  2. From the Microsoft ActiveSync window, click the Sync icon on the device to initiate an ActiveSync session.
  3. After ActiveSync has completed, scroll to and select Tools.
  4. In the Tools menu, scroll to and select Explore Device.
  5. All the folders stored on the device will appear in the Mobile Device folder.
  6. Select the desired content that you would like to store on the computer, and then transfer the content from each of the folders.
  7. You can cut and paste, drag and drop, or use other transfer methods. You may transfer individual files or entire folders.
  8. Once all the content has been transferred, you can unplug the device.

Reset your device

A master reset restores the original factory settings and may delete your personal data on the internal storage, such as downloads, ringtones, images, apps, contacts, and Visual Voicemail. It doesn't delete data stored on the SIM card or SD card.

Master reset with settings menu

  1. Tap Start > Settings > System > Clear Storage.
  2. Enter “1234” then tap Yes.

Master reset with hardware keys

If the device menus are frozen or unresponsive, you can master reset using hardware keys.

  1. If you can, back up all information on the device.
  2. If the device is turned on, either turn it off or remove the battery and re-insert it. The device must be turned off and unplugged from the charger to continue.
  3. Press and hold the Left soft key and Right soft key at the same time.
  4. While holding the soft keys, press the Power button on top  of the device. You do not need to hold the  Power button.
  5. Keep holding the soft keys until the device displays 'This operation will delete all your personal data, and  reset all settings to manufacturer default'.
  6. Release the soft keys and press the green Send key.
